Play Date
My friends Lori and Amy came over today and they brought their little ones to play with Izzy. Brady is almost 16 months old and Lori is expecting again in early September and Avery is 13 months old. It was a beautiful day outside but not quit hot enough for the pool so we played in the sand instead. It was so nice to get together again as it had been awhile since the three of them played and since us moms could chat too. All of the babies were pretty wore out for their afternoon naps. Amy is a stay-at-home mom so once I am done with school we will be able to play all of the time, but Lori lives in Shakopee and works full time so it is harder to see their family.

Dirt
I picked up all my flowers at Diane's house last weekend and Isabel and I have been planting all week. Tony wanted to move one of my big planters so I had to take a lot of dirt out of it so we could move it. I had Izzy help me and she did really well. She would take both hands and grab as much dirt as she could and throw it into the cart. Okay, a little dirt did make it on the ground but overall she did great. Once we got the barrel 1/2 empty, she climbed right in! We are getting used to having dirt everywhere; it is going to be a fun summer!

Memorial Day
We spend Memorial Day weekend in Cook and we were very busy at the lake and helping Diane in the greenhouse. Isabel had a great time playing at the lake and even though it was cold, she had to get into the water. I let her play in the sand for a little bit but her toes and butt got too cold. Maybe next time the water will be a little warmer so she can swim.

Hot Days
We have had a taste of hot summer days in the twin cites and Izzy and I are loving it. Yesterday it was 98 degrees here and so far today it is 93 so I set up the pool I bought on Craig's list. Isabel woke up from nap and wasted no time getting right into it but it was pretty cold. Once she got used to the temperature of the water and it warmed up a bit she was crazy. She goes down the slide by herself and splashes into the pool. The only thing she hasn't mastered is climbing up the stairs to get into the pool. We were invited to our neighbor's for root beer floats which of course Izzy loved and then it was back in the pool. I dragged her out at 5:45 so I could make dinner and she cried and held on to the side. It is going to be a fun summer!

Swing Set
I have been scouring Craig's list for a month for a used swing set with a slide for Izzy and I finally found one last week. She loves playing outside so much and I know that when she is home with me during the summer we are going to be outside all of the time. Barb, her day care lady loves taking the kids out and Izzy usually stands by the door and bangs on it when she makes them come in for lunch. We are going to have a blast this summer; we have a sand box with a picnic table, a wagon, a cozy coupe car, a swing set, and many other toys to play with. Now all we need are some of her friends to come over because she is used to playing with at least 5 other kids!
Grandma Nelson's 90th birthday party
Last weekend we were up north in Fosston celebrating my grandma Mickey's 90th birthday. She was actually 90 in February but we decided to have a spring party. It was a beautiful day and all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins came and my grandma had a wonderful time. She was completely wiped out afterwards but I know she enjoyed it. Izzy had a great time playing with cousins Gabby and Thomas at my mom's and she also got to feed the horses and see the new baby calves with grandpa Tom too.
